On Saturday night, the shebeen in Gastown hosted the 2008 Cask Rendezvous with Arran Malt.

Managing director Euan Mitchell came straight from Scotland to guide the attendees through a tasting which included the 10 Arran Year Old Single Malt, the Sassicaia Cask Finish, the Pineau des Charentes Cask Finish, the Moscatel de Setubal Cask Finish and the Arran Ambassador’s Choice Single Cask which is not available in North America.

At the end of the tasting, the organizers held a draw for a bottle of the Robert Burns 250 Year Anniversary Edition. The winner, Fulvio Cecere, was generous enough to share a taste with everyone in the room.

On Saturday night, Starlight Children’s Foundation hosted the fourth annual signature fundraising event, Sparkle!, at TRUNK gallery.

Attendees enjoyed cocktails, a fashion show featuring the latest by JC Studio and Dunhill London, sensational sounds by Lesismore and a spectacular auction.

On Friday evening, Holt Renfrew Vancouver hosted a belated launch party for holt’s Spa and Salon with cocktails by Bacardi, catering by OPUS Hotel’s Catering Division and music by Ill-Esha.

On Friday night, media personality Jennifer Thomson from Radio 1410 took control of the Oyster Bar at Joe Fortes between 5 and 7:30pm to raise funds for charity.

On Thursday night, Strawberry Nights hosted 7even Sins at Caprice Nightclub.

Vancouver has a new radio station. On Thursday, November 13th, CKPK-FM also known as THE PEAK, 100.5, hit the airwaves with U2’s Elevation at 7PM.

To launch the station, THE PEAK hosted a VIP party featuring a live performance by Hey Rosetta! at Vancouver’s highest point, Seasons in the Park.

On Wednesday evening, purveyor of fine models, King Promotions, celebrated their five year anniversary at the Caprice.
