VancouverMartini.com’s Granville Street Martini Tour
Saturday night featured another sold out Martini Tour presented by Josh Bender’s VancouverMartini.com. This time we toured classic and new venues on Granville Street including a start at the Oh My Goddard Gallery.
At Sanafir, the champagne was delectable! At Republic, they were out of Boris so instead, we sipped on Leffe. We also stopped by Crush which was preparing for the Jamie Foxx afterparty, and Ginger 62.
Dropping $35 extra each to check out the Jamie Foxx afterparty was a mistake. It wasn’t anything to write home about. The tour, on the other hand, well, we can’t wait for the next one!
See you then!

No commentsUrban Mixer presents: This is Dublin
The next Urban Mixer ‘tour du monde’ series event has been announced!
Dublin like you’ve never seen it before…unless you’ve actually been to Temple Bar. Not a green beer, a plastic leprechaun hat, nor a chorus of “Old Danny Boy” in the place; nothing but the finest pre-St. Patrick’s Day warmup this side of the Atlantic Ocean, Bar None.
We have changed location to accommodate a larger attendance number than expected!
Location: 670 Smythe Street, Vancouver
Location: 1222 Hamilton Street, Vancouver
Doors Open: Friday, March 16th, 2007. 6PM - 11PM
Dress: Semi-Formal (wear something green)
The newly remodeled Yaletown favorite has had a facelift and an injection of glamour, resulting in one of the warmest, sexiest, most elegant nightclub experiences Vancouver has to offer. A world-class venue for a world-class event, the new Bar None and the new Dublin meet for a perfect evening of contemporary, international urban entertainment.
Join all the Urban Mixers and enjoy the stunning room and festive atmosphere of our salute to modern Ireland. We’re celebrating true classic and contemporary Irish culture with a Celtic harpist and a sophisticated vibe for a St. Patrick’s Eve celebration you’ll never forget (unless you partake too freely of the potheen, in which case we at least hope you remember us by the hangover). Please dress to impress; this is a world-class room and a world-class event. Your admission includes a festive and topical beverage and appetizers, and some of the best company in Vancouver, naturally: you’ll be there!
Your admission includes a festive and topical beverage and appetizers, and some of the best company in Vancouver, so be wearin’ of the green and be warned off the wearin’ o’ the orange, trust me on this; I got it wrong once and they had the devil of a time getting me out of the garbeurator afterwards.

Experience music, fashion and food inspired by Dublin. In the spirit of St. Patricks Day, sip on Irish concoctions created by the remarkable Jay Jones. Celebrate the season!
$10 in advance, $25 at the door.

No commentsUrban Mixer: This is Milano Photos and Thanks!
The first round of photos from «This is Milano: the fashion experience» are in (see below)! The event was a tremendous success with over 150 guests who graced us with their presence. With limos, models, Ducatis and the finest wine and spirits, we’d like to thank our sponsors for making the event happen. Without them, there would be no event.
Liquor sponsors:
VOGA Italia Pinot Grigio and U’Luvka Vodka

VOGA served up their very special Pinot Grigio. U’Luvka, quite possibly one of the finest vodkas in the world, was the main component in the Donatella Martini. Both are now available at BC Liquor Stores.
DJ, Media Sponsor, Photographer, Fashion Coordinator and Print Sponsor:
School of Mix, Infamous Magazine, Perity Studios, Unique Memories and UltraXPress Printing:

DJ Tyler (T Wrex) of School of Mix kept spinning the tunes all night while attendees kept recounting how awesome the music was.

Infamous Magazine put the word out on the street for our event - if you haven’t got your copy, grab it… this month’s edition has Donald Trump on the cover.

Nathaniel Brown of Perity Studios snapped photos at every opportune moment and never missed a beat.

Nery Monzon of Unique Memories put our fashion showcase featuring local designers together in less than a week.

UltraXPress provided printing services including our business and post cards.
Other sponsors:
Ducatis provided by John Valk BMW Ducati. Fashions provided by Dace, One of a Few, City of Pula, Joanna Kulpa and The Block.
Special thanks to SSID Inc. for being the title sponsor of the event and Restaurant Connor Butler for hosting us and providing over 1000 canapés derived from their menu to enjoy.
We would also like to thank our models, Aaron, Stephen, Danielle, Vanessa, Cathy, Cat, Ed, Dan, Meghan, Cali and especially Sarah.
Makeup by Joelle and the crew and our ever-helpful volunteers, Sarah (model and volunteer!), Jennifer, Lana, Lorraine, Alexei, Tony and Selma.
So, here we have it, our first round of photos. You can click HERE to access the full set (which will be updated again, shortly) on the Urban Mixer site.

No commentsSix Degrees Vancouver
Six Degrees connects friends of all ages in an amazing venue to support Special Olympic athletes. This year, the goal is to raise $50,000 for the Special Olympics Canada foundation.
Saturday night attendees enjoyed an amazing evening which included a VIP function, performances by Truly Tina, Cirque Phoenix and DJ Phil Hart as well as a laser light show and a Valentines Live Date Auction. We caught the VIP function and enjoyed catching the show, meeting the attendees including Greg Edgelow, former Olympic Wrestler, Ross Rebegliati, former Olympic Snowboarder and Peter Lader, City Councillor.
The silent auction had some amazing prizes, all of which I was outbid on. Anyone have an autographed Patrick Roy jersey they want to sell?
