On Thursday afternoon, The Beat and the Vancouver Area Mini Retailers put on the 2007 Office Hottie Contest at Milestone’s on Robson Street featuring ten hand-picked hotties from various offices in Vancouver.

With judging performed by Mini Richmond’s Sharad Khare, Mini Yaletown’s Megan Nichol and the Beat’s Benjamin Butler, it took no time for these ‘Hottie’ experts to crown and Ms Carolyne Beaudoin as the winner and to award Ms Harpreet Ghuman with the honors of runner up.

Beaudoin takes home the title and a cool $1000 cash for her effort.

On Wednesday, August 29th, Italian Kitchen, the newest addition to the Glowbal Restaurant Group’s roster, opened their doors to media and VIPs.

The event, which saw over 900 attendees walk through the doors, was sponsored by Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver, which is certainly fitting for anything Italian. Ciao!

On Saturday night, Devin the Dude played at Richards on Richards.

Devin the Dude (born Devin Copeland) is a Houston, Texas based rapper.He started out as a member of Odd Squad, a group of rappers signed to Rap-A-Lot records, home of fellow rappers Geto Boys, Scarface, Too Much Trouble, Convicts and so forth.

The opening act, High Stakes featuring Kanabliss, get props for their props, a six-foot tall bong and cannabis plants on stage, making for a memorable experience.

On Saturday night, Dr. Michael Events hosted OPUS’ Garden of Eden at OPUS Bar in Yaletown.

The event had most attendees in their classy & sassy elegant whites… like the clouds above Eden & the purity of Adam/Eve. The event also featured live body painting on the lovely torso of model Chelsea McCooey by the talented & Allyson J. Grant. The event was open singles, couples & networkers and went late into the night.

On Saturday night, we enjoyed the first studio party after the blue barn.

Located at 882 East Cordova, artists Jennifer Mawby, Karine Guyon, Jeff Mair, Melinda Campanella, Dan Fairchild and Brady Dahmer all exhibited their work at the new studio for the event.

Yesterday, Cassis Bistro celebrated their 3 Year anniversary. At the same time, they also finally launched their gourmet line of take-home French bistro fare: Étuvé Food.

The celebration featured exceptional food, a wine tasting, and live entertainment.  There was also a fashion show, showcasing Blushing Designs and hair design by Selma Bukvic. An evening to remember!

On Friday, August 24th, Cecilia Jette from TRUNK Gallery which also doubles as auto/ONE and Clutch by auto/ONE invited us down to check out the Tanya Slingsby PRASARA and Anthony Redpath QUIET Opening Receptions.

Slingsby’s paintings are monumental and Redpath’s photography beautiful. The Exhibition runs ’til September 28th and while you’re at it, you can stop by and get a new Ferrari… or get the old clunker cleaned by auto/ONE’s new Wax Buff n’ Grind detail shop division. Tell ‘em Raj sent you.

The 6 Month Series of The Fashion House concluded on Thursday, this time featuring the Spring/Summer ’08 line of clothing from Baby Phat.
