Mike Relm at the Commodore
On Saturday, September 29th, San Francisco’s turntablist and VJ with the unique talent of synchronized video scratching which precisely complements the audio track, who’s style is best described as zero to psycho in three scratches flat played the Commodore ballroom.
Currently, Relm is touring with the Blue Man Group as their opener. Check out some video from Saturday night’s performance, below.

On Thursday evening, Auto West BMW held the ‘Green Opening’ of their new eco-friendly luxury car showroom in Richmond, BC.
The hundreds of attendees who checked out the $17 million 1.5 hectare retail centre were not dissapointed. Tasty treats, free flowing drinks, valet parking, exotic BMWs including the 2007 BMW B7 Alpina and loads of entertainment made for THE launch party to be at this week.

On Thursday the 27th of September, Tom Flanagan, former campaign manager for the Conservative Party of Canada and mentor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper paid a visit to the OPUS Hotel to launch his new book as well as to speak about his party’s path to power.
The event, organized by the Fraser Institute as part of the Behind the Spin: Fraser@OPUS , had senior representatives from a number of businesses to stop by and hear what Tom had to say. The Fraser Institute’s next installment at OPUS Hotel is a debate about ‘The Role of Government in Funding Arts & Culture’ between Maestro Bramwell Tovey of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Elizabeth Nickson formerly of the National Post on the 23rd of October.

On Tuesday the 25th, over 600 wine enthusiasts passed through the doors at the Rocky Mountaineer Station for the Vancouver stop of the Wines of Chile Fall Festival Tour.
The event featured over 200 wines, tasty Chilean nibbles and live llamas on site.

On Tuesday the 25th, the Michael Kors Lifestyle Boutique opened their doors at Oakridge Centre on 41st and Cambie.
The event, which was catered by Elixir Restaurant at the OPUS Hotel (their catering division), had attendees including figure skater Emmanuel Sandhu, socialites Carmen Ruiz y Laza and Constantine J. Anastasopoulos, Michael and Shanni Eckford, Jason Hadkin and Jessica Margaret from Iconic Artist Agency as well as David Goldman from Boys’ Co. pass through the doors to congratulate Michael Kors’ Canadian President, Debra Margles, who came in straight from Montreal to enjoy the evening.

On Tuesday the 25th, the Fraser Institute held a VIP Reception with former Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney, at the Pan Pacific’s Crystal Ballroom to launch Mulroney’s new book, Memoirs 1939 - 1993.
The former Prime Minister entertained the crowd with anecdotes from his career as well as some tidbits about his interactions with Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev and Margaret Thacher. The event also had Peter Brown from Canaccord Capital, John Reynolds from Lang Michener and Hassan Khosrowshahi from the Fraser Institute all take the podium to deliver their takes on their relationship with Mulroney and the recent release of his 1200 page tome.

On Sunday, September 23rd, Giffard & Co., the producer of fine fruit-flavoured liqueurs, held the Iron Mixologist Challenge.

On Saturday night, the crazed fitness maniacs from CrossFit Vancouver got together at the Pig Pen Palace music studio and event space at 7 West 2nd Avenue to enjoy drinks and music.
CrossFit Vancouver, the gym which bases it’s doctrine on the studies of fitness guru Greg Glassman, and a Paleolithic diet, is located on East 2nd and Ontario Street. Read more about it, HERE.
