Bjorn Lomborg, named as one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world and the 14th most influential academic in the world, the author of ‘Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist’s Guide to Global Warming,’ made an appearance for a very exclusive dinner at the Vancouver Art Gallery on the 26th of November.

The event, an enlightening discussion about Global Warming with practical steps to overcome it, and an insider’s view on Al Gore’s manifesto with reasoning why it and the Kyoto Protocol isn’t practical, was hosted by the Fraser Institute. An invite-only event, the dinner, catered by Four Seasons Hotel, attracted some of Vancouver’s top businesspeople including Peter Brown from Canaccord Capital, Perry Braun from Salman Partners, David Ferguson of Anthem Properties and Ray Castelli of Naikun Wind Development to name a few.

The next Fraser Institute speaker series event on February 18th, 2008, features Karl Rove, named by George W. Bush as “the architect” in his 2004 victory speech. Sure to be one of the notable events of the year.

VANCOUVER - The Fraser Institute is sponsoring a series of lectures at the Vancouver Art Gallery between now and June, covering a range of political and environmental topics. At the first event, on Monday, Bjorn Lomborg will speak on global warming. Lomborg is on Time’s Top 100 Most Influential People list.

On Feb. 18, Karl Rove, the former deputy chief of staff to U.S. President George W. Bush, will talk on U.S. politics.
