Serving up regional Mexican fare (not Tex-Mex) and ‘the good stuff,’ 100% agave tequila, the aptly named Tequila Kitchen promises to become the new hotspot for good, wholesome eats in Yaletown.

Tequila Kitchen is located at 1043 Mainland Street (Between Nelson and Helmcken) right next to Section (3) and is serving up a $25 set tasting menu during their soft opening period - after March 15th, a full menu will be available.

INTRODUCING TEQUILA KITCHEN

New restaurant under construction brings traditional regional Mexican cuisine to Vancouver

Coming this March to Yaletown

Tequila Kitchen owners Laura Enriquez, Emiliano (Emi) Núñez and Claudia Ibarrondo, along with Executive Chef Juan Gonzalez, are pleased to share with you their plans for Tequila Kitchen. The restaurant is now closed for renovations as we make the transition from Mel’s Diner to Tequila Kitchen; We will be opening this March.

Menu development is well underway and will feature traditional regional Mexican cuisine - The cocktail program will be exclusively tequila based with a selection of fresh tequila cocktails. As many Mexican beer’s as we are able to bring in will be available, along with both BC and warm climate wines. Closing between lunch and dinner during the winter, summer hours will see breakfast open with the sunrise and “Botana’s” served on the patio all afternoon.

Days
Breakfast, lunch and brunch
Open daily, serving freshly baked items, local organic eggs and featuring Mexican breakfast items. Comfortable breakfast and lunch items with a twist of Mexican flavours and fresh ingredients. Winter hours: 8:30 am – 2:30 pm daily

Nights
The national cuisine of Mexico. Our Spanish influenced Aztec and Mayan style cuisine is not the “Tex-Mex” you have come to expect in North America. Instead we will be serving traditional Mexican food, varied by region, using indigenous ingredients of Mexico from the North, Southeast and Pacific Ocean, to the Gulf of Mexico. We look forward to introducing you to this fresh, flavourful cuisine. 5 - 11 p.m. daily.

Later Nights
Botana and Agave Bar
Experience the joy of Botana’s, a small Mexican appetizer, or Mexican tapas if you will. Pair these with a drink from the extensive bottle selection of tequila and tequila cocktails. From 11 pm daily, all day during summer hours then well into the night.

How many types of Tequila are available at the Tequila Kitchen?

  4. raj March 20th, 2008 11:42 pm

In BC, unless you have a liquor primary license, you cannot name your establishment about something that insinuates you sell booze rather than food.

The authorities like to push around the little guy - places like Moonshine, for example, were bullied into changing their name to Six Acres. There’s countless other citations.

Keeping the above in mind, Tequila Kitchen refers to regional Mexican cuisine. Tequila is an area in Mexico close to or surrounding the town of Tequila.
