For centuries we have looked to the arts for cultural definition and have relied on the expression of poets and visual artists to find meaning and catharsis for modern understanding; it is through the common word we find the expression to give light to emotion and our meager presence in a constantly expanding and complicated world.

Though it is true that words paint a picture, Versus extends itself to enlist a series of diverse visual artists exploring the relation between prose and visual art forms. Each artist has been hand picked to present visual context to a variety of selected poems through composition.

Versus lends a literary reference through which we explore individual experience and repore. The very pathos of Versus further pushing the notion that through art we find the romanticism of our literal existence.

On Thursday, March 20th SNAP Contemporary Art invites you to experience this unique exploration of visual art in interpretation of word.
