Tequila Kitchen Art Exhibition
Tequila Kitchen on Mainland Street next to Section (3) has transformed their dining space into an art gallery!
On Wednesday night, the popular Yaletown restaurant launched an exhibition titled ‘Pollen’ by Carolina de la Cajiga. The exhibition was curated by Miriam Aroeste who incidentally is the new curator at Canvas Lounge. Back to Tequila Kitchen, check out the original release and the artist’s statement after the jump.
Artist’s Statement:
I love to experiment and push myself to find new ways to express my ideas. The Search for balance between reality and impression is what is important. My designs are simple yet strong and elegant. I don’t go after trends but follow my inner thoughts and emotions.
When I realized how much time we are spending in our outdoor rooms, surrounded by stylish furniture, I noticed there to be a lack of art – art for the outdoors.
This got me thinking and, after some research into suitable mediums, I began creating artworks specifically designed for the out-of-doors. The paintings are playful and colourful, they complement and harmonize with nature. Pollen – as I imagine an insect sees.

Time: 5 – 8 pmTequila Kitchen is proud to invite you to our first Art Exhibition introducing the artwork of Carolina de la Cajiga.
Tequila Kitchen was a concept dreamed of by owner Laura Enriquez. Vancouver has a big ethnic diversity, but there seemed to be lacking some authentic Mexican food. So along with her partner Claudia Ibarrondo , son Emiliano Nunez and Executive Chef Juan Gonzalez, the dream developed. The main idea behind TK is Botanas and Agave. Botanas are a sort of Mexican tapas. A fun sharing platter, dedicated to thrill your taste buds and keep you begging for more. All of our tequilas are 100% agave. The only things kept behind the bar are Tequila, Mexican beer and some wine. Our cocktails are all tequila based and unbelievably refreshing! We are trying to put in front of you what anybody in Mexico is enjoying at this very moment. The real, fresh flavors of our homeland right here in Vancouver. When you come to this warm spot in Yaletown, you will feel welcome and at home and will want to come back as soon as you leave.
Carolina will donate all proceeds from the first sale from this exhibition to the Carnegie Centre Community Association, an organization that works towards better housing and living conditions in the Downtown Eastside community.
