Pivot Legal Society, along with partners from the Downtown Eastside, organized Justice Rocks, a free one-day concert in East Vancouver’s Strathcona Park.

Outside of free bike valet parking and plenty of causes to support, Hebegebe, Fur Bearing Animals, Curtis Santiago, DJ Mark Brennan, Choir Practice, and RUN GMC took the stage during the day to entertain the crowds and make the day a success. CanThrill, the company behind Lobby at Ginger 62, Dragon-I at Canvas Lounge, Envy My Music at Celebrities and Lifted at Tunnel, celebrated 2 years in business on Friday with the grand re-opening of Ginger 62.

On Friday night, Paul Pigeon opened his Shaughnessy home to the public for Quente II, a fundraiser for Rose Charities.

The event featured Supermodel Noot Seear, founder of Rose Charities USA, and her mother, Josephine de Freitas, co-founder of Rose Charities UK, in attendance. After a few rounds of cocktails, some canapes by Chef Francois Samson, a speech by de Freitas and music by Kokoma African Dance and Drummers, Seear, along with other models starred in a fashion show featuring the designs of 212 Productions, Carlie Wong, 2nd Skin Swim wear and DKNY.

Caprice Nightclub on the Granville Strip wowed crowds on Thursday night with their legendary summer party, Shangri-La.

On Thursday night, the freshly-renovated Ginger 62 on Granville Street opened their doors to the public for the five year anniversary of High Society – the city’s longest running Bollywood-inspired club night.

On Thursday night, Canvas Lounge in Gastown hosted a fundraiser for the Bavubuka Foundation, an organization which is dedicated to creating spaces and educational programs that will nurture and empower a new generation of young leaders in Uganda and all of Africa.

Guests enjoyed a welcome glass of Prosecco and regional delights including Ugandan kababs at the event while they learned about Bavubuka. Silas aka Babaluku, the Ugandan hip-hop artist, a member of the Bataka Squad was also on site to promote the organization.

The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel obtained two queen bees in June and have subsequently set up a couple hives on their third-floor terrace. The result? The Fairmont Waterfront is making their own honey.

On Wednesday afternoon, we met with executive chef Shannon Wrightson and beekeeper John Gibeau for the Waterfront’s inagural honey harvest and to learn about the hotel’s plans to expand to six hives in the upcoming year.

On Tuesday afternoon, Whole Foods invited members of the media to enjoy the ‘Whole Foods Market Media Holiday Party’ at their location in West Vancouver.

We enjoyed a gourmet holiday meal – including crab cake appetizers, stuffed brie, roast turkey with traditional herb stuffing, olive oil smashed potatoes and fresh pie for dessert. We also got a sneak peek at all of the fantastic treats, prepared meals and unique gift ideas that will be available at Whole Foods this upcoming holiday season. (More after the jump…) (more…)

On Sunday night, Cobre Restaurant in Gastown celebrated it’s first anniversary.
