On Wednesday, October 29th, De Dutch Pannekoek house officially opened the doors of their first restaurant in Alberta.
Guests enjoyed sampling the Dutch pancake that is the restaurant’s signature dish while mingling with representatives from the company including Bill Waring, President and John Dys, Founder.

On Wednesday evening, the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS), hosted a screening of the ‘Cannes Lions – International Advertising Festival’ winners at the Roundhouse in Yaletown.
All proceeds from the event benefited NABS, a charitable organization that provides assistance to people in the advertising and related industries that my need help due to illness, injury, unemployment or financial difficulties. Check out the original release, after the jump. (more…)

Vancouver’s newest boutique hotel, the Loden, which is located on Melville Street close to Coal Harbour, held their launch party on Wednesday evening.
During the evening’s event, guests checked out various rooms including the 1600 sq.ft Penthouse Suite, the facilities and the much-anticipated restaurant, Voya, while mingling enjoying live entertainment, sampling food creations by Marc-André Choquette and endulging in cocktails created by master mixologists, Jay Jones and Brian Grant.

On Wednesday morning, Mayor Sam Sullivan, Bill and Cathryn Hunter (Co-Chairs of Eagles in the City) and Stephen Miller (President of the BC Lions Society) officially unveiled ‘Eagles in the City’ on the steps of City Hall.
Eagles in the City, the third public art project of the BC Lions Society following the Orcas in the City (2004) and Spirit Bears in the City (2006), benefits the Easter Seal Services and the Canucks for Kids Fund. On Thursday, October 23rd, we checked out the Worldwide WOW Exhibition & Gala at Artists of the World – a chance to go around the world without the jetlag.
The evening included a fusion of cuisine, art, entertainment and culture featuring the Calgary Italian Folk Dancers, Shimmy with Suzy Belly Dancing, Ballroom & Country Dance Studio, Club Tango Argentino, Dance Canada Productions, minerva, Savanna-Rose, The Matt Blai Connection, Aqy Baba, Stephen Strain and Brian Sharp. The event was a great success with the organizers CPC Elevate raisingover $55,000 in support of Aspen’s Empowering Families Initiative.
