Edmonton’s Jason Osborne Takes Home Gibson’s Cup and the
Gibson’s Iron Bar Championship Title

Montreal, QC – (November 20, 2008) The official 2008 Gibson’s Cup drink was selected last night as the nation’s top bartenders and mixologists went head to head in the final Gibson’s Iron Bar competition.

The seven regional winners were flown into Montreal, where they competed in a close race to impress the judging panel. Jason Osborne from Edmonton’s Union Hall was selected as the Iron Bar Champion. His drink, named after the Edmonton Eskimos’ stadium, The Commonwealth, was crowned the Gibson’s Cup. To recreate the Commonwealth, mix:

1oz Gibson’s Finest
1 ½ oz Apple Juice
2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
¼ oz of Lime Juice

Pour over ice and serve in a short glass

Jason Osborne will take home the grand prize of $1000. His drink has officially been crowned the “Gibson’s Cup” and will be served at this year’s Grey Cup® festivities.

Franz Swinton is Gibson’s Iron Bar Champion for Calgary

Calgary, AB – (October 23, 2008) Calgary gave us something to toast about when local bartenders competed against one another in the Iron Bar competition two weeks ago. The Calgary finalists went head to head in the Iron Bar competition, but only one came out victoriously and was crowned the winner for the Calgary division of Iron Bar. Franz Swinton from Raw Bar was the bartender responsible for the winning drink. Franz’s drink was named “The red and white club”, after one of the buildings in McMahon stadium. To recreate Franz’s drink, mix:

3/4 oz. Gibson’s Finest Sterling
Muddled white peach
Gastrique of Cranberry juice

Pour into shot glass

Garnish: Gibson’s finest infused white peach slice covered in powdered sugar
