Urban Mixer Gallery Series III – the Sound

The words ‘music to my ears’ will finally have meaning when you step foot into TRUNK gallery for THE event of the season.

Bang & Olufsen Burrard Street are supplying a masterpiece in sound as well as in electroacoustic theory – the much coveted Beolab 5 speakers that, even when cranked to the max, won’t make you sound shout. You’ll just have to hear it to believe it.

DJ Eric Allen will be taking the first step to creating utter harmony between the rooms at affinity auto, auto/ONE and TRUNK gallery with the first set. Check him out on Facebook HERE and on MySpace, HERE.

The List Featuring DJ Dove with DJ Rhiannon at Opus Bar

DJ Eric Carver, a favourite around town and, especially at OPUS Bar, takes the second set with his remakes of popular mashups and more. Check him out on MySpace, HERE.

Republic on Granville

Finally, the world renown Cliff John – best known for rocking the Tokyo Circuit hard, hits the decks. What more is there to say other than check him out on MySpace HERE and see you Wednesday night.

Urban Mixer Gallery Series III – the Drink

For this event, look around, you’ll be mystified by the decor but we haven’t stopped there. Fine art on the walls, fine cars on the floor and even a bottle service lounge to serve your every desire.

U’Luvka Vodka is the pinnacle of ultra premium vodka – made with three grains, rye, wheat and barley, and then distilled three times, this vodka is likely the smoothest white spirit you’ve ever tasted.

For this event, we’re tasting two cocktails – a signature cocktail, the Red Lion and a special Ginger-infused creation created by Danielle Tatarin from the Designer Cocktail Company.

Bottles of U’Luvka will be available in the bottle service lounge.

Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon is made in small batches and bottled by taste, not age and is exquisite either on its own or mixed as part of a cocktail.

On Wednesday, you’ll be tasting both the Manhattan made with Maker’s Mark and the Maker’s Mark Peach Tea, both featuring the magical touch of brand ambassador, Ron Oliver.

Bottles of Maker’s Mark will be available in the bottle service lounge.

Fuzion Wines, originating from Argentina, will be tasted for the first time in Canada at our event on Wednesday. Fuzion comes in two varieties – the Shiraz Malbec, 70% Syrah – 30% Malbec, and the Chenin Torrontes, 70% Chenin Blanc and 30% Torrontes.

Pacific Western brewery has been bottling beer since 1957 and is now BC’s largest independent Canadian-owned brewery. For this event, we’ll be sampling the brewery’s Pacific Pilsner which is brewed with natural spring water.

As a bonus, the brewery has also provided us with a limited quantity of their Pureian Mango Soda, Pureian Cranberry Soda and Pureian Natural Soda which will be available to sample.

Urban Mixer Gallery Series III – the Food

At Urban Mixer, we think great events are about the people, the location, the food, the entertainment and the drinks. Without these elements, it just isn’t as memorable as it could be. On top of all that, we’re supporting charity by giving 100% of net proceeds to imagine1day.

In this spirit, our next event on Wednesday, November 26th, is featuring exquisite food provided by two of our favourite places.

Revel Room, located in Gastown, is set to tantalize you with two fablulous canapes:

  • toasty points with fig mustarda and crispy pancetta
  • citrus shrimp lettuce cups with tobiko

Figmint, located on Cambie Street, is set to dazzle you with four delightful canapes:

  • seared ahi tuna nicoise
  • foie gras torchon with vanilla poached apples and micro dijon
  • smoked mushroom pate with manchego and truffle oil
  • chocolate brownie with caramel sauce

To top it all off, we’re holding the afterparty at Revel Room where we’ll be reveling until last call which they always signal with fresh baked cookies. More information on Wednesday.
