Waterboys – BC Lions Football Team Barbecue

On Wednesday, August 25th, the BC Lions’ Waterboys were invited to enjoy a barbecue with the team.

The event was held at the BC Lions Training Facility and immediately followed the 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM practice session of the BC Lions. Seen attending the event were Dennis Skulsky – BC Lions President and CEO, Wally Buono – General Manager and head Coach of the BC Lions, Derral Moriyama of the BMO Bank of Montreal, and Moray Keith of the Dueck Auto Group.

The Waterboys – BC Lions Football Team Barbecue was sponsored by Rob Gray of Team Radio, Jamie Pitblado of Pacific Newspaper Group, Derek Duvall of Action Fitness & Training Centre, and Don Nilson of Nilson & Co.

A golf event followed the barbecue at the Guildford Golf and Country Club together with the Waterboys and selected BC Lions players.

The new Empire Stadium debuts for the Waterboys

On June 17th, attendees of the BC Lions Waterboys Breakfast were treated to a sneak-peek of the new Empire Stadium where the Lions will play all at-home games during the 2010 season while renovations are occurring at BC Place.

2010 Orange Helmet Awards

This year’s Orange Helmet Awards were a whopper! Darren Flutie and Doug Flutie were the event conveners, Dennis Skulsky was announced as the new President of the BC Lions and David Braley was on his way to becoming a Senator.

The 7th Annual Orange Helmet Awards Dinner celebrated grassroots football in British Columbia, honoring the 2009 Provincial Champions from all levels of amateur football.

The Waterboys turn Six

On Thursday, April 2nd, the Waterboys celebrated their sixth anniversary with a breakfast at BC Place Stadium.

As a special treat, attendees were also given the opportunity to take a sneak peek at the Vancouver International Auto Show, courtesy of fellow Waterboy Blair Qualey who also happens to be the President and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC.

The Waterboys are a group of business leaders, founded by Dennis Skulsky, Moray Keith, Tom Malone, Jamie Pitblado, Bill Weymark and the late Bob Ackles, who are committed to building the BC Lions Football Club’s brand and relationships in the corporate community.
