Last week’s Mercury Rising, the weekly Thursday-afternoon weather-permitting patio party in the Penthouse Suite in the Loden Hotel, was hosted by Ishara Boutique in Oakridge Centre.
Those who attended, sipped on drinks including Matt Martin’s pick of the week, the Cachaça sour, while mingling amongst friends, including the owner of the Oakridge store, Amrit Baidwan.

Take Twitter, one of the world’s fastest-growing social networking mediums, and combine it with the savvy marketing people at one of Vancouver’s newest boutique hotels and you get the recipe for some fun-filled summer evenings.
On Thursday, June 18th, a message on Voya Vancouver’s Twitter page read:
What are you doing after work today? Come on up to Loden’s Halo Penthouse from 4pm onwards for a cocktail, bbq & a dj spinning-1177 Melville
That evening we popped into the Halo Penthouse… and the rest was history. On every sunny Thursday during the summer the Loden tells us they will be hosting Mercury Rising featuring a live DJ, free flowing drinks, plenty to see, people to mingle with and more.

Vancouver’s newest boutique hotel, the Loden, which is located on Melville Street close to Coal Harbour, held their launch party on Wednesday evening.
During the evening’s event, guests checked out various rooms including the 1600 sq.ft Penthouse Suite, the facilities and the much-anticipated restaurant, Voya, while mingling enjoying live entertainment, sampling food creations by Marc-André Choquette and endulging in cocktails created by master mixologists, Jay Jones and Brian Grant.
