On Tuesday, December 10th, Chef Erik Smith and General Manager Alain Canuel opened the doors of r.tl or the Regional Tasting Lounge next to Goldfish Pacific Kitchen on Mainland Street in Yaletown for a media-only sneak preview into one of Vancouver’s newest restaurants.
The venue has some interesting aspects. The front door slides open automatically upon triggering it’s proximity sensor – similar to something you’d see in an episode of Star Trek. Inside the venue, there’s a private room behind a bookcase. Similar to Whineo’s Scooby Doo Room, the private room is the perfect place for an intimate and secret get-together… or maybe a pillow party.
As for the food? Chef Erik Smith’s regional menu featuring dishes from Spain, the Middle East and BC looks promising – something to definitely check out. Find out more on their website, HERE.
